China is typically associated with the manufacture of alternative technologies such as hydropower and solar energy.  Current policy - in China and man other countries - tends to focus on R&D for high-technology 'solutions'.

But a very different type of innovation - low-technology, low-cost but highly effective - could be even more important to achieve a low-carbon economy and society.

Please join us for the launch of a major new research report, 'Game-Changing China: Lessons from China about Disruptive Low-Carbon Innovation', commissioned by NESTA and written by David Tyfield (Lancaster University), Jun Jin (Zhejiang University) and Tyler Rooker (Oxford University).

This joint international research profiles seven case studies of Chinese low-carbon innovation, the Chinese 'Game-Changers', each of which has the potential to make a significant contribution to emissions reductions and the move to a low-carbon society - for China and the world.

The report will be introduced by Dr David Tyfield from the Centre for Mobilities Research (CeMoRe), Lancaster University.  Bernice Lee, Research Director for Energy, Environment and Resource Governance from The Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House, will respond to the report.
